Meet Our Leaders

Sarah Rogers - Consultant

Hi everyone!  My name is Sarah and I am so excited to be helping out with camp this summer! I’ve spent several years leading wilderness programs in the Sierra Nevada, guiding teens through backpacking, climbing, and backcountry travel while helping them build confidence and independence. This summer, I’m excited to serve as a Director Consultant at Bear Valley Summer Camp, supporting staff and helping create meaningful, safe, and adventurous experiences for every camper.

Hi, I'm Jessica. I grew up skiing here in Bear Valley and have lived and worked here for the past three years. I am a ski patroller in the winter months and am excited to take on the role of director for the summer months! I have a passion for the outdoors- hiking, mountain biking, skiing, paddleboarding, mountaineering and camping. My goal is to create an environment at camp that allows campers to find a passion of their own and build lifelong friendships with others they can explore the outdoors with. See you out there!

Hi, I'm Tessa! I grew up splitting my time between Monterey and Bear Valley, where I developed a love for both the mountains and the ocean. As a longtime camper, I spent many summers at camp discovering a passion for outdoor adventure, and I'm excited to return as Assistant Director to help create those same experiences for campers. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, swimming, surfing, skiing, and camping. My goal is to help create a fun, supportive environment where campers can build confidence, make lasting friendships, and develop their own love for the outdoors. I can't wait to meet everyone and have an amazing summer together!

Hey!! I am so excited to be the counselor lead this year!! I just graduated from California State University, Chico. I find my passion working with children, especially summer camp!! I grew up skiing in bear valley and I cannot wait to spend my summer here as well!!
SONJA ARNEBORN

Hello! I have been coming to Bear Valley for around 12 years, both during the winter for skiing on the race team, and coming up in the summers. I love to go camping, hiking, swimming, skiing, and seeing the beautiful outdoors. I have created such amazing memories out there, be it backpacking with my family, or creating laughs with others on my race team. I'm excited to help campers discover new outdoor experiences, build confidence, make friends, and create lasting memories this summer!

ZAC ADAMS

Hi, I was born in Maui, Hawaii and grew up there since I was about 9 before fully moving to California with my mom. I really enjoy art as a lot of people may know, and have pursued it since I could pick up a pencil, and was definitely inspired by my dad who paints modern- pop art with acrylics. My uncle also does watercolor and photography and my grandpa was also a watercolor painter. So some may say I may have gotten the art from my dad’s side of the family!
I love working with kids just as much as I love doing art and I have been a ski instructor and a camp counselor in the past with some babysitting jobs! I truly do love working with younger kids and using my hyperactive imagination to create an awesome environment for kiddos!

Hi, I’m currently a student at Cal Poly Humboldt studying anthropology. I enjoy working with people, being part of team environments, and spending time outdoors. I’m excited to be part of camp this summer and looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi, i’m Marley, or Marz for short :) I’ve lived in the area my whole life and I love it. Seeing other kids enjoy the wilderness as I do is one of the greatest things.
OLIVIA CORREIA

Hi everyone! I am thrilled to be working as a camp counselor for Bear Valley Summer Camp. I have grown up visiting Bear Valley from the time I was born, and absolutely love spending the summertime here. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking the trails around town, swimming in the lake, and running my favorite hilly loop around Bear Valley Road and the village. The opportunity to spend the summer working with kids and living in the mountains is a privilege and joy, and I can't wait to meet our campers! As a young adult reflecting on the beauty of my own childhood spent in Bear Valley, I hope to create a space that allows younger generations to appreciate the outdoors, and the incredible Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I am very excited to be starting my first year as a Bear Valley camp counselor. I’ve spent a lot of time with my five-year-old sister, and have always enjoyed spending time outdoors with her. I love to come up with craft ideas, and enjoy my time outdoors the most when I’m on the water. I’ve always had a connection with kids, and I hope to give them a fun summer experience during our time together at camp.
